In loving memory♥

My grandpa passed away last Friday.. and it has been a really tough time.  I guess we all kind of knew it was coming.. but its just kind of one of those things that you all dismiss and act like its never going to happen.  My grandpa had been sick for quite some time now.. 14 years to be exact! And not a day went by that he didn't let us forget it either.. "14 years ago they said I wasn't going to make it and look at me now" he would say!  Man, I loved that guy more than anything..
He truly was an amazing grandpa.  I will always look up to and remember him as the hard working man that he was.  He always was thinking of others and putting people before him.  He would have given the shirt off his back to anyone at anytime.  Many people knew him as the "candy man" because he always had candy with him and handed it out where ever he was. Whether it was at church or the grocery store he always had a pocket full of goodies.  He always made sure to spoil us grandkids too.  I remember when I was little him and my grandma would ALWAYS pick us up and take us to lunch... but we never had to actually eat lunch instead they gave us ice cream or candy hahaa that was the best!
My grandma reminded me of a time when we were helping him clean his picnic table. My sister and I cleaned that thing SPOTLESS.. well everything except the bird poop and mud that is! Haha he loved us more than anything though and instead of getting mad he just hurried and cleaned it himself.

I remember my grandpa ALWAYS wearing those trucker caps, in fact, when we were cleaning out his work shop we found literally like seven boxes full of them! His favorite one was the red white and blue white satin hat.. there was one time he was wearing it and me being the little brat I was I decided to just knock it off his head... he gave me an angry glare, and I simply said "but grandpa it was the wind" hahah he couldn't help but crack a smile and quickly wasn't angry anymore.
Another thing I remember about my grandpa was he loved to sleep.  He always would take little naps.  From the times where he fell asleep on the floor and let his crack hang out.. to the times he was out in the tractor he loved those naps more than anything, besides me of course :) hahah the cool thing was though that whenever anyone would wake him up.. he would hoot and holler and become grumpy pants.. but not when I woke him up! He would simply pull me into his arms and try to get me to nap with him.

The last few moments I remember spending with my grandpa were hard but they were definantly worth it.  He wasn't too coherient in the last few days we spent with him.. we would all sit in the hospital room with him and he would mumble things that didn't make sense to us.  Sometimes he would kick us all out of the room so that he could tell my grandma "secrets" it was really cute.. one of the last few days he came back to life and told us all how much we meant to him. He told us how greatful he was to have us all.  He also told us how he was scared... this kind of scared some of us because how can a man that has known he was going to die for 14 years be scared? He had been preparing for this we had thought...

Here are a few pictures I have taken over the week spending time and bonding with my family:

My cousin Ashley, my little sister Kennedy, and me.. reppin grandpas white satin hats!
My gorgeous cousins, Ashley and Lindsay, my baby cousin Benjamin and myself.
I would be such a great mom, look a how happy I make baby Benjamin! ;)
Mom, me, and Grandma. Good looks only get better with time! HA
This girl is simply amazing, and she's SINGLE hint if you want her number ASK! haha (shes gonna kill me)

Its been really tough on all of us, but were getting through it okay.  We have spent alot of time being together as a family which has been really cool.
When its all said and done, death is always going to be hard on anyone.. but what we need to remember is that they are in a better place and out of pain. Never forget the memories that you have shared with those people and always remember that although they aren't there physically, there sprit will always live on.

Rest in peace grandpa, you might be lost but you will never be forgotten. Xoxoxo, I love you and will always be your little beauty♥
Be sure to watch over all of us while your lookin down on us from heaven! And we will see you soon.
